Finnish stainless steel producer Outokumpu is seeking to capture 25% of the US stainless steel market in the next two years, rising from its current market share of 14%, according to the saying of Michael Wallis, CEO of Outokumpu Stainless USA during a media day event held at the site of its Alabama new melt shop.

He expected that the new melt shop will help to supply raw materials to its Calvert mill in-house and provide the stainless hot bands to its Mexinox cold rolling mill in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
