US based truck and engine maker Navistar has introduced the International TerraStar 4x4 commercial truck at the ongoing 2013 National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Work Truck Show being held at Indianapolis in the US.

The truck is powered by the 6.4 L V-8 engine paired to an Allison Optimized1000 Series transmission that generates an output of 300hp and torque of 660lbft.

Navistar North American Truck and Parts president Jack Allen said, "The TerraStar 4x4 will deliver additional commercial duty capability for a wide range of customer needs, including construction, utility, landscape, and other off-highway applications."

The vehicle is claimed to offer 30% more cab space than its competitors and comes with the International Diamond Logic electrical system, automated pre-trip inspections, automatically engaged safety interlocks and programmable switches.

Features of the vehicle include 80,000PSI frame rails, huck-bolted frame and the Allison Optimized 1000 Series transmission that features shift energy management (SEM), load-based shifting scheduling (LBSS) and automatic neutral.
